Enzo Maresca discusses player injuries and fan support following draw against Nottingham Forest
Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca addressed the situation of his players, particularly Levi Colville and Noni Madueke, who experienced discomfort during the match against Nottingham Forest.
In a tightly contested game, Nottingham Forest initially took the lead with a goal from Chris Wood, but Madueke equalized just eight minutes later, resulting in a 1-1 draw. Colville reported feeling a strain in his thigh and was substituted for Tosin Aderabioyo, while Madueke was also seen limping after the match.
When asked about the condition of both players, Maresca reassured reporters: “I think both players are fine. We’ll see, but I don’t think there will be any problems with them.”
The manager was also questioned about the fans after he was spotted urging them to support the team during the match. Many fans have expressed concerns about the atmosphere at Stamford Bridge, but Maresca praised the supporters, stating they were exceptional and he simply felt the team needed a bit more encouragement at that moment.
He commented to LondonWorld: “The fans were incredible today. At that point, I felt we needed a bit more, and the fans were great today. The reason we won one game at home, as I have said many times, is because I prefer to analyze the game.”
Chelsea will face a significant challenge without Marc Cucurella and Wesley Fofana for their match against Liverpool after the international break. Therefore, the news that Colville and Madueke are in good condition will be a relief for the squad.
