Chelsea owners summon head coach: Maresca will say everything he thinks
Chelsea FC has arranged a meeting in December with the club’s board, sporting director, and head coach Enzo Maresca, as reported by David Pastor.
During the meeting, Chelsea plans to present Maresca with the winter transfer budget, and both he and the sporting directors will discuss the future of several players in the squad.
Pastor also revealed that Chelsea’s winter transfer objectives were outlined by Maresca shortly after their recent match against Newcastle at Stamford Bridge.
Maresca is specifically requesting a defensive midfielder, a right-winger, and a striker in the winter window. However, the club and Maresca have differing views regarding defensive reinforcements, leading to a mutual decision to delay acquiring a new center-back until the summer.
Any new signings for the desired positions depend on current players exiting the squad, and discussions on potential sales will commence once Maresca confirms his stance on the roster.
Currently, Chelsea sit fourth in the Premier League standings after ten games, with 18 points—seven points behind the league leaders.
