Chelsea Women Go Top of WSL After Victory Over Manchester City
Chelsea secured a 2-0 victory over Manchester City to claim the top spot in the Women’s Super League (WSL).
Goals from Mayra Ramirez and Guro Reiten in the second half sealed the Blues’ seventh consecutive league win, leaving them two points clear of City with a game in hand.
Despite the absence of Australian star Sam Kerr, Chelsea capitalized on their chances in a tightly contested match.
Ramirez opened the scoring in the 75th minute, shrugging off Alanna Kennedy to slot past City’s goalkeeper Ayaka Yamashita. Four minutes later, Reiten curled in a stunning strike following a corner clearance to double Chelsea’s lead.

City featured Mary Fowler and Alanna Kennedy, with Fowler subbed off in the 80th minute for Chloe Kelly.
Arsenal Triumph in North London Derby
Elsewhere, Arsenal continued their climb up the WSL table with a commanding 3-0 win over Tottenham. Goals from Alessia Russo, Frida Maanum, and Stina Blackstenius lifted the Gunners to fourth place.
The match showcased five Australian internationals, including Caitlin Foord, Steph Catley, and Kyra Cooney-Cross for Arsenal, and Clare Hunt and Hayley Raso for Spurs.

Foord was subbed off in the 64th minute for Beth Mead, while Catley and Cooney-Cross were among the seven players who received yellow cards in the feisty derby.
Brighton Stay in Contention
Australian coach Dario Vidosic’s Brighton maintained their strong start to the season with a thrilling 3-2 win over West Ham, secured by Fran Kirby’s 82nd-minute winner.
Chelsea remain in pole position, while Manchester City, Arsenal, and Brighton continue to battle in what is shaping up to be an exciting WSL title race.
