Enzo Fernandez Sends Strong Message to Chelsea Boss Enzo Maresca
Enzo Fernandez has sent a powerful message to Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca with his recent standout performances.
Despite struggling for consistent Premier League minutes this season, with Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia often preferred in midfield, Fernandez has taken advantage of opportunities in other competitions to showcase his abilities.
In the UEFA Conference League, Fernandez delivered an exceptional performance during Chelsea’s 8-0 victory over Noah, providing three assists in just 45 minutes before being surprisingly substituted at halftime.
Maresca explained the substitution as a tactical move, possibly with an eye on the upcoming Premier League clash against Arsenal.
Fernandez’s impact continued in the Arsenal game, where he came off the bench with Chelsea trailing and immediately made a difference. His clever pass set up Pedro Neto, who scored his first Premier League goal for the Blues.
Despite these contributions, Maresca has explained Fernandez’s limited Premier League starts as a tactical choice to maintain balance in midfield.
Speaking before Chelsea’s match against Manchester United, Maresca reaffirmed his faith in Fernandez, emphasizing that his absence was due to strategic decisions rather than a lack of trust.

“I still trust Enzo. There is no reason in the world I can lose confidence in him,” Maresca said.
He added that Fernandez’s playing time would increase, particularly during the busy fixture schedule, and suggested that his inclusion depends on the physicality required in certain matches.
Fernandez’s creative output has been undeniable, but Maresca seems to want more defensive contributions from the 23-year-old to complement his attacking prowess.
Fernandez’s impressive form has continued on the international stage with Argentina, where he delivered a superb assist for Lautaro Martinez in a World Cup qualifier against Paraguay.
With a series of favorable fixtures ahead and the demanding Christmas period approaching, Fernandez is likely to see increased playing time.
His performances suggest that it may soon be impossible for Maresca to leave him out of the starting XI, especially as Chelsea look to dominate upcoming matches.
