Estêvão Willian Prepares for Chelsea Move, with Support from Reece James and Cole Palmer
17-year-old Brazilian wonderkid Estêvão Willian is set to join Chelsea next summer following a £51 million deal with Palmeiras.
The transfer, which will be finalized once Estêvão turns 18, has already sparked excitement, with the teenager setting ambitious goals for his future at the club, including becoming Chelsea’s most successful Brazilian ever. It’s expected that he will remain with the senior team for the 2025-26 season under head coach Enzo Maresca.
Ahead of his move to London, Estêvão has been receiving support from some of Chelsea’s current stars.

In an interview with ESPN Brasil, he revealed that club captain Reece James and winger Cole Palmer have reached out to offer guidance and encouragement. “Palmer speaks to me on Instagram, and James said that if I need anything, I should speak to him,”
Estêvão shared. He also mentioned that he has been inspired by Palmer’s signature “cold” celebration, often mimicking it when he scores for Palmeiras. “I really like this celebration. Ever since I signed with Chelsea, I said I was going to do this celebration,” he said, expressing his excitement about their ongoing communication.

In preparation for his move to England, Estêvão is learning English to ease his transition. “It’s hard, but I’m using techniques like watching films without subtitles and listening to music,” he said, showing his determination to adapt as quickly as possible.
He also expressed a desire to visit Chelsea’s training facilities during his vacation, further underlining his commitment to settling in.
Alongside Estêvão, Chelsea will also welcome another highly touted young talent, Kendry Paez, from Independiente del Valle next summer. However, it remains uncertain whether Paez will stay with Chelsea immediately or depart on loan for further development.
