Levi Colwill Impresses in Chelsea 2-1 Win Over Leicester, Despite Injury and Illness
Chelsea defender Levi Colwill played a key role in his team’s 2-1 victory over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Saturday. Manager Enzo Maresca has relied heavily on the 21-year-old this season, with Colwill starting all 12 of Chelsea’s Premier League matches so far.
Colwill, hailed by former Tottenham and Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood as the Premier League’s most improved player, showed his gratitude to Chelsea fans despite facing challenges during the game.
Toward the end of the match, the young defender appeared to pick up an injury, and Maresca later revealed that Colwill had also been feeling unwell. Nevertheless, he made the effort to thank the away supporters after the final whistle, as reported by BBC Sport journalist Nizaar Kinsella.

Chelsea secured the win with goals from Nicolas Jackson and Enzo Fernandez. Although Cole Palmer had a quieter game compared to his usual high standards, his excellent season has earned praise, including compliments from Colwill for his calm demeanor.
In the Leicester match, Chelsea dominated possession, meaning Colwill had limited defensive duties. His stats reflected this, with no tackles or interceptions recorded. However, he played the full 90 minutes, registering one clearance and winning one aerial duel.
Looking ahead, Colwill is likely to face a tougher challenge in Chelsea’s next Premier League fixture against Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge. He will be tasked with containing forwards like Ollie Watkins and potentially Jhon Duran.
